The early model Colorados had thermostats that opened at 180°. GM later moved to 195° thermostats and discontinued production of the 180° thermostats. You got a 195° thermostat. The temperature gage was calibrated to read near the center or just below the center mark with the old thermostat.The Colorado doesn't have a ground wire in the group.
