Have been advised that GM now recognizes the problem to be with the micro switch used in the shifter to indicated that it is in fact in Park. The fix is replacement of the shift mechanism, not the harness. The replacement shifter has an improved micro switch. This is covered under warranty. 2018 GMC Acadia.The "shift to park" message appears as soon as you attempt to power off the vehicle (see attached photo). Instead of bumping the handle I have been testing holding my foot on the brake pedal and wiggling the shifter handle then release both every few seconds. Then the message goes away 5-10 seconds later.If the brake lights don’t light up, replacing the switch should get you back on the road. 3. Shift Interlock Failure.
