I used Motul 20W50 I believe, and K&N Oil Filter every 2000-5000 miles. I have had my GSXR 750 for 3 months and have 4500 miles and 3 oil changes. About ready for another. I have started riding my Harley because the tires on that last longer and my GSXR tires are starting to get down to the wear lines.

(see the label sticker on the engine) 5100 is semi-syntethic, as reccomended from suzuki.it's the right compromise, and more it exists 15w50 (better than 40 for sacs)The first step is to drop the sump and see what you broke. I don't think the oil pump drive shaft can move laterally in the oil pump housing so my guess is that you will find the oil pump mounts broken off in the engine.
